Ingredients
  

  • 1 large French bread loaf (about 16 inches)
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 3-4 medium Roma tomatoes, sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, packed
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Slice your French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on the baking sheet.
  3. Combine olive oil and minced garlic in a small bowl. Brush this mixture over both cut sides of the bread.
  4. Arrange fresh mozzarella slices evenly across both bread halves.
  5. Layer tomato slices over the mozzarella and season with salt and black pepper.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread edges turn golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  8. Slice into individual portions and serve immediately.

Notes

Pat tomato slices dry to prevent sogginess. Use high-quality mozzarella for best results.
