Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Slice your French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place cut-side up on the baking sheet.
- Combine olive oil and minced garlic in a small bowl. Brush this mixture over both cut sides of the bread.
- Arrange fresh mozzarella slices evenly across both bread halves.
- Layer tomato slices over the mozzarella and season with salt and black pepper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the cheese melts and the bread edges turn golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
- Slice into individual portions and serve immediately.
Notes
Pat tomato slices dry to prevent sogginess. Use high-quality mozzarella for best results.
